Mentioning a new tax and observing that "notheing [makes] the taxes come with more unwillingnesse and discontent from the people than when they see others doe not bear an equall share in the burthen with them" [sic]; discussing the currency problems; saying that the "businesse of the lease to Francis Carpenter" must wait until he goes to London": "I doe not use to set my hand and seale till I have advised with those who are better skild in those matters than I, by which menas I have all my life avoided suits and controversies" [sic].
